PAMAis a global leader in the production of large boring, milling and machining centers. Over the years PAMA has adapted to the market with continuous development of new high-tech products that meet the needs of its customers. Alongside consolidated products such as Speedram hydrostatic boring machines and Speedmat machining centers, they have projected the Vertiram portal machining centers and the recent Speedmat VM machining centers. One of PAMA’s strengths is to provide its customers not only with a machine tool but with complete turnkey solutions.
PAMA has chosen Eureka Virtual Machining for the simulation of machining processes at their production centers located in Rovereto, Brescia and China.
Eng. Francesco Minutillo, Production Engineering Manager, explains: “After a comparative analysis with other simulation software, we chose Eureka for some simple but fundamental reasons: the ease of installation and use of the software, the ability to simulate machines with complex kinematics such as those that we produce in Pama and use in our workshop, the possibility of simulating parametric programs using advanced Siemens functions and last but not least, the excellent and timely technical support that Roboris provides. In my opinion, when you decide to purchase complex and specialized software, the support that the manufacturer is able to provide must be carefully evaluated, as this can be the key factor for the success or failure of the entire implementation project. "
“The advantages obtained", continues Eng. Minutillo, “are many. Our production is based on the “single piece flow” concept, that means that we only process the components of the orders sold, not batches. We produce large-sized and high-cost artifacts, and their possible rejection involves the delay of the entire order with economic damage that goes far beyond the simple cost of the artifact itself. For this reason we were looking for a software that would allow us to go to the machine with a “tested” program, at least virtually, to reduce the possibility of errors, increase the confidence and, last but not least, reduce processing times. In addition to this Eureka makes life easier for programmers who can see what they are programming before going to the car. "
